This workshop engages participants in Awareness Through Movement lessons and in the practice of Authentic Movement. Each session includes an Awareness Through Movement lesson on scanning and eye use and an exploration of the dyadic relationship between mover and witness in Authentic Movement. The mover’s responsibility is to be true to him- or herself. The witness practices non-judgment in regard to the mover’s experience. Mover/witness roles create a bridge to the development of consciousness and inform our understanding of the Feldenkrais Method and our everyday lives.
This workshop is also open to the public.
Lisa Tsetse (2001) maintains a Feldenkrais Method practice, teaches creative movement, and choreographs and directs multi-arts performances in Ithaca, NY. Early influences include modern and post-modern dance, dance movement therapy, and the practice of Authentic Movement. In 1979 she co-founded the Fort Wayne Dance Collective.
