Is our work guided by an internal sense of satisfaction when we touch during a Functional Integration lesson? How does touch affect the quality of our student’s experience? A student’s openness to learning is influenced by a variety of factors, including the safety that comes from clear boundaries; the competence and confidence the student senses in the practitioner; touch that is caring and respectful of the student’s organic learning. This workshop is devoted to refining the ability to use touch as a tool for deepening our presence, developing clarity and keeping boundaries while we work.
Trainees attending this workshop must be enrolled in Year 3 or 4.
Mischul Brownstone (1983) has been exploring touch in both its subtle and concrete manifestations in Functional Integration for many years. He calls this aspect of his work The Language of Touch.
