Fear the Floor No More
Students/practitioners will become familiar with how to use simple, entry level ATM® lessons and weave them together, teaching important skills for safety, confidence, and independence. Students/practitioners will be able to replicate this movement series in classes or workshops in a way that baby boomers and seniors can thrive and become experts on themselves. This workshop is based on a 10-week program that Beth taught to seniors. After the 10-week program, all participants aged 55-93 were able to get up and down from the floor and stated that they were not afraid of falling. The class is a progression using the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education. Participants learn to move by carrying out small movements under pleasant, non judgmental conditions. Participants are able to get up and down from the floor effortlessly, improving their balance, gaining confidence, vitality, as well as independence. We begin in chairs, progressed to mats and walking, and finally return to chairs.

Participation in this workshop does not give attendees the right to use FGNA service marks. Only individuals who have received authorization from FGNA are allowed to use FGNA service marks, offer Functional Integration® or Awareness Through Movement® lessons, or practice the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education.
