How to Make Running Possible…Easy…and Elegant

Running is our birthright, part of what Dr. Feldenkrais called our biological inheritance. Yet so many children and adults—even runners!—struggle with it. The secret to running that feels safe, fun, and natural—not to mention faster—is learning to use our system of internal springs. The ability run smoothly, comfortably, even gracefully lies there waiting to be activated. Through Awareness Through Movement® lessons and a small amount of optional running (< 5 minutes, twice) we'll explore how to get out of the way of the spring system, turning the dreaded impact of running into an energy source that propels us almost effortlessly forward.

Jae founded The Balanced Runner in 2003, helping runners from beginner to Olympian improve their technique so they feel like they're flying. She also helps Feldenkrais practitioners and running-related professionals serve runners better. Her work is included in "The Rise of the Ultra Runners" by Adharanand Finn, due out 5/7/19.

Participation in this workshop does not give attendees the right to use FGNA service marks. Only individuals who have received authorization from FGNA are allowed to use FGNA service marks, offer Functional Integration® or Awareness Through Movement® lessons, or practice the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education.
