Alex Toenniges is a movement & neuroplasticity specialist helping musicians, dancers, change-makers, and sensitive, neurodivergent, queer, and disabled folks find more ease in moving, thinking, feeling, and living. Alex is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner and Awareness Through Movement® Teacher, graduating in 2019 from a four-year Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program in New York City with David Zemach-Bersin. Alex has been teaching Awareness Through Movement® since 2017 and maintains a private practice.
Alex teaches weekly Awareness Through Movement classes at the Etowah Library (Henderson County Public Library - https://hendersonpl.libcal.com/) and teaches Feldenkrais for musicians in the summers at Brevard Music Center.
With a background as a classical bassoonist, Alex especially enjoys working with musicians and has taught Feldenkrais® workshops for musicians at institutions across the Midwest, including Brevard Music Center, University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
